Blue Point Fish Prints are produced in historic Blue Point, N.Y. by artist and Long Island native Dan Derby.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Born and raised on the South Shore of Long Island, I have always been fascinated with the cultures and traditions of our unique region. The Great South Bay, our barrier Islands, the unique and abundant wildlife, and our historic agricultural and fishing communities have all influenced my work.

ABOUT MY WORK

Original Prints - My original prints are created by hand, using non toxic inks, on a variety of mulberry and rice papers. I specialize in printing oyster shells from around the country, as well as a range of sea life from locally sourced wholesalers and retailers. Because I use non toxic inks, most fish can be consumed after the print is made in order to keep the process as sustainable as possible.

Archival (Giclee) Prints - My archival prints and limited series are professionally printed using high quality inks on fine art paper by local artist Luann Thompson at Bellport Arts & Framing Studio
